Repatriation, assisting and repatriating Indian seamen distressed abroad

RepatriationSeafarers have right to repatriated at no cost to themselves in the (according to the circumstances specified). The Company shall ensure that adequate provision is made for financial security to ensure repatriation.
Entitlement to repatriation:a) Expiry of employment agreement whilst aboard.b) Termination of seafarers’ employment agreement by company or by seafarer for justified reasons.c) Seafarers’ disability-unable to perform duties in work agreement.
Maximum service period after which a seafarer is entitled to repatriation shall be less than 12 months.
Company or its recruitment agency shall not :a) Request an advance payment towards the cost of repatriation at the beginning of their employment.b) Recover the costs of repatriation from wages or other entitlements.
The Company shall when available provide the seafarers a copy of national provisions regarding repatriation.
